My name is Helena,  l have a great empathy and passion to support mothers and families with the challenges of bringing home their new born babies.

l strongly believe that women need to be given the opportunities and access to information that can support them to make the best decisions for themselves and their families. l believe  we need to guide the Mothers and not take the control from them.  We have enough triggers in society that create 'mum guilt' and we need to be happy with our decisions. So lets support each other to be the best we can be.

I have a Diploma in Early Childhood, Graduate Certificate in Social Science (Pre-natal and Post-natal), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Diploma in Management. I love learning as much as I love educating, especially with new mums, babies and families.

I live a holistic life, am calm natured, easy going, caring and very nurturing. I find it rewarding by helping others and love seeing people happy.

With over 32 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education and Care it has always been my passion to work with families and children, especially new mother's and parents. I have worked as an early years educator, child care centre director and in the Mother Baby Unit working casually within the hospital environment. I have also privately supported families with sleep techniques, breastfeeding and general support with having a new baby.

I am a mum of 3 amazing adult children, however as a young mother, having my first baby at just 19, l felt very isolated and unsure of everything l was doing. I questioned everything and what i felt I lacked was that early nurture and support, just that reassurance that I was doing a great job and the right things for my babies.

Breastfeeding didn’t come easy to me in the beginning, which no one talked about. Natural was the only word l heard from nurses yet it was the most un-natural thing to do. Don’t get me wrong l loved breastfeeding, it just wasn’t that easy. I feel a lot of new mums feel like this and this is where I'd help, provide support, care, strategies and advice to ensure that Mothers feel confident with their choices.

As women we need to look after each other, share our stories, learn from each other, support one another to be happy with the decisions we make and find what works for us and our families to ensure we raise happy children.
